How Much Does the Wegovy Pill Cost in the UK?

It depends on the dose, the provider and the offers running that month, so a single headline number misleads. This guide explains how the cost builds across the treatment ladder, what a realistic first-year total looks like, and where the live numbers are right now.

The short answer

Across the regulated UK pharmacies Ogovy tracks, the Wegovy pill typically starts from around £49 to £99 per month on the 1.5mg starting dose once introductory offers are applied, sits around £99 to £150 through the middle of the ladder, and reaches roughly £150 to £270 per month at the 25mg maintenance dose depending on provider. Those bands move constantly, so treat them as orientation and use the live dose pages for the current figures.

What a first year realistically costs

Using the typical pattern of one month each at 1.5mg, 4mg and 9mg followed by nine months at 25mg, a first year commonly lands somewhere between roughly £1,700 and £2,900 in total depending on the provider and any offers, with cheaper combinations possible when introductory pricing, subscription rates and returning-customer offers line up. The single biggest lever is the 25mg price, because it repeats every month: a £30 monthly difference at maintenance is £270 over those nine months, far more than any first-month saving.

The true total, not the headline. Ogovy tracks the checkout total: base price plus delivery plus any mandatory consultation or prescribing fees. A £99 headline with a £15 fee and £4.99 delivery is not cheaper than a £115 all-in price. Each pharmacy also carries a pharmacy score, so the cheapest row and the best-inspected one can be compared together. Read how we track prices.

Why prices differ so much between pharmacies

Every provider sets its own private price. The differences come from what is bundled (clinical reviews, support programmes, delivery), whether pricing is one-off or subscription, how aggressive their new-customer offers are, and their own supply costs at each strength. None of it reflects a different medicine: the tablet is the same MHRA-approved product everywhere, which is why comparing on the true total is safe and sensible.

Ways the monthly cost comes down

Introductory offers on first orders, verified discount codes on eligible orders, subscription pricing at some providers, and multi-month supply rates all reduce the effective monthly figure. The verified offers hub tracks current codes with their conditions, and the cheapest today page shows the lowest tracked entry point right now. If spreading the cost matters, our buy now pay later guide covers the options and the cautions.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Wegovy pill cheaper than the injection?

Not automatically. At equivalent treatment stages the two are often priced similarly, and at some providers the maintenance tablet and the maintenance injection cost about the same. Our pill vs injection cost comparison has the detail.

Can I get the Wegovy pill on the NHS?

No. The Wegovy pill is not available on the NHS at present, so a private prescription is the way to get it. Our NHS access guide explains the current position and what would need to change.

Does anything cheaper exist?

Newer oral treatments are arriving: Foundayo (orforglipron) was MHRA approved in August 2026 and early pricing suggests it may undercut the Wegovy pill at some doses. Our sister site Dayo tracks Foundayo prices the same way Ogovy tracks the Wegovy pill.

Why do prices on this page use ranges?

Because provider prices change constantly. The dose pages linked above carry the live tracked figures with per-row timestamps. The ranges here only show the shape of the market.
